摘要
By employing Raman and photoluminescence spectroscopies, and transient photoconductivity, we have studied the damage caused by 5 MeV alpha-particle bombardment on both CVD and type IIa natural diamonds over the fluence range of 1.6 x 10(12) cm-2 to 8 x 10(15) cm-2. The H3 PL peak at 2.46 eV is seen and it dominates the Raman/PL spectra for fluences greater than 1 x 10(14) cm-2. By introducing additional trapping/recombination centers into the diamond films via atomic displacements, dramatic changes in electrical properties are observed. The effects of polycrystallinity on radiation damage in CVD diamond relative to single-crystal, natural diamond are discussed.
