PI/N SCATTERING IN 2+1 DIMENSIONS

摘要
We present some arguments which suggest that in all head-on collisions of N indistinguishable soliton-like objects in 2+ 1 dimensions the scattering angle (of the emerging structures relative to the incoming ones) is expected to be pi/N. These results are expected to hold in all models in which the soliton-like objects are topologically stable and the topology is based on the S2 --> S2 mappings (i.e. is implemented like in the S2 model). These predictions are verified in some numerical simulations of the S2 and ''skyrme'' models in 2 + 1 dimensions.
