DIAMOND CRYSTAL MONOCHROMATOR IN A SPRING-8 UNDULATOR BEAMLINE

摘要
Analytical results of SPring-8 undulator beam heat load on a diamond crystal monochromator are described. Pure heat power of a diamond crystal after a graphite filter, Be window, and slit system is calculated by using OEHL (Optical Element Heat Load Analysis) program as a function of crystal thickness. Thermal distortion of an indirectly edge-cooled crystal is less than about 1 arcsec with a slit system for the total power of the order of 50 W and the power density of the order of 10 W/mm2. The relation between the crystal thickness and temperature rise by purely absorbed x rays shows that thicker crystal gives lower temperature rise for the edge-cooled crystal. Result of three dimensional finite element analysis (ANSYS) is also presented. © 1995 American Institute of Physics.
