摘要
The error in concentration estimation is treated for the linear multivariate case by extensive error propagation. Interconnections between the derived error in concentration and certain definitions of selectivity are demonstrated. Signal data from measurements using sequential optical emission spectroscopy (OES) with excitation in the inductively coupled plasma (ICP) were used. For the investigated spectral data, errors in the concentrations could be predicted satisfactorily, depending on the quality of the estimates of the errors of the measured signals. The investigation of certain definitions of selectivity revealed only limited correlation between selectivities and errors in the concentration.
