Comprehending roles of catecholaminergic systems in stress responses in humans. requires knowledge about clinical approaches to assess catecholaminergic function. This paper updates these assessment techniques, including neurochemical methods, direct sympathetic nerve recording, power spectral analysis of heart rate variability, and cardiac sympathoneural imaging.
