摘要
The characteristics of an optically pumped three-level laser using intersubband transitions in asymmetric quantum wells are discussed and an optimization of the band structure is proposed. The possibility of including the inverted laser medium in a Bragg mirror microcavity or in a two-dimensional photonic bandgap is also analysed.
