QUASI-PARTICLE-TUNNELING PROPERTIES OF BA1-XKXBIO3/BABI2OY/BA1-XKXBIO3 SANDWICH JUNCTIONS

Quasiparticle-tunneling measurements on sandwich junctions patterned from molecular-beam-epitaxy-grown Ba1-xKBiO3/BaBi2Oy/Ba1-xKxBiO3 trilayers are presented, where we find evidence for superconductor-insulator-normal-metal tunneling with a 2-meV gap. The subgap conductance is found to vary from a linear voltage dependence to a BCS-like voltage dependence. The temperature dependence of the zero-bias conductance and the thermal broadening of the conductance peak are studied.
