摘要
By bridging over centers that lie in nodal planes of the frontier orbitals, the electronic decoupling of the pyrene units in the new compounds bipyrenyl 1 and para‐terpyrenyl 2 is achieved. This causes the electronic situation to differ fundamentally from that in biphenyl, oligo(para‐phenylene)s, and related oligoarylenes. R is, for example, n‐pentyl. (Figure Presented.)
