摘要
The devitrification of melt-spun amorphous Al85Ni10Ce5 is studied in continuous heating and isothermal experiments. Isothermally there is a significant incubation time (strongly dependent on quench rate) before devitrification onset and the kinetics suggest transient heterogeneous nucleation on sites generated homogeneously during quenching. Transmission electron microscopy shows that the site density can be as high as 6 x 10(20) m-3.
