摘要
The polarized visible absorption spectrum of synthetic blue sapphire crystals has been recorded at 77°K. From consideration of the observed transition energies and oscillator strengths, the principal absorption is shown to arise from a charge-transfer transition within a cation-anion-cation complex. © 1968.
