摘要
This article outlines the inter-relationship between the restructuring of the economy now taking place in both Bolivia and Peru and how this process is affected by the illicit coca drug sector in each of these countries; and discusses the domestic anti-drug policies in each and how, or to what extent, these are affected by the anti-drug policies of the US. This discussion examines how economic development has progressed in both Bolivia and Peru between 1990 and 1994; explores the main aspects of the coca sectors in each of these two countries; and analyzes the drug policies currently being applied by both countries, as well as the policy approach of the US in dealing with the illegal drug sector and how this impacts the national policies. -from Author
