摘要：

We describe a direct-view confocal microscope system in which a scanning single-mode optical fiber is used both to launch light into the microscope system and to detect the confocal signal. A fiber coupler is used to separate out the confocal signal into a fiber whose tip is scanned in synchronism with the launching fiber. Imaging the tip of this scanning fiber provides the confocal image directly.
