摘要
The electron-rich 64-electron rhombic cluster Ru4(CO)13{mu-P(NiPr2)2}2 (1) readily decarbonylates, undergoing an exceptionally facile transformation to the electron-precise butterfly Ru4(CO)9(mu-CO)(mu4-eta2-CO){mu-P(NiPr2)2}2 (2), which contains mu4-eta2-carbonyl bound within the framework cavity. Cluster 2 reacts with dihydrogen under mild conditions to give the 60-electron tetrahedral molecule (mu3-H)RU4(CO)9(mu-CO){mu-P(Ni-Pr2)2}{mu3-P(NiPr2)} (3) Via hydrogenolysis of a phosphido bridge.
