TRANSITION ENERGIES OF D-LEVELS IN QUANTUM-WELL STRUCTURES

Transition energies of D- levels in quantum-well structures in a strong magnetic field are investigated using the local-spin-density-functional formalism together with the transition-state technique. The single-particle Schrodinger equation is solved numerically using an expansion method. At high magnetic field, the calculated binding energies and transition energies of D- levels agree rather well with previous calculations and with magnetoabsorption measurements. The limitations and the accuracy of our approach are discussed.
