摘要
The bandwidth of an electrostatic ultrasonic transducer with a V-grooved backplate has been studied experimentally. The highest correlation is found to be between the bandwidth and the resonance frequency, and this relationship seems to be linear. Analysis indicates that the groove angle has no major effect on the bandwidth. Within certain limits the bandwidth can be increased by using a multiple-sized groove pattern in the backplate. The optimum performance is achieved when two groove sizes are used and the difference between groove sizes is small. In some cases transducers with multiple-sized grooves in the backplate show unpredictable responses.
