摘要
Monosubstituted phenols show a constant adsorption density when pH values are smaller than the pHiep of hydrous ZnS(s). No adsorption of the deprotonated phenolate species was observed. It is concluded that the adsorption is controlled by the solubility of the monosubstituted phenols. The nonspecific, hydrophobic interaction is proposed to be the determining driving force for the adsorption, with the exception of catechol, which is specifically adsorbed. Compared with the oxides, hydrous zinc sulfide demonstrates a stronger affinity toward monosubstituted phenols. © 1992.
