摘要
This is a review of our recent electrokinetic studies of the surface of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) hydrogel-coated particles and plates. Electrophoresis measurements were used for particles, while electroosmosis measurements were used for plate samples. It was found that the phase transition of a poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) layer is well reflected in the electrokinetic data. We found excellent correlation between the results obtained via these two different methods. The obtained data were found to be well described by an electrokinetic theory for ''soft'' surfaces.
