SUCCESSIVE HIGHER-HARMONIC BIFURCATIONS OF A POLARIZATION SELF-MODULATED EXTERNAL CAVITY SEMICONDUCTOR-LASER

摘要
Higher harmonic bifurcations and associated hysteresis behaviour in a polarization self-modulated external cavity semiconductor laser have previously been experimentally observed. In this work, a relatively simple model is presented which is able to demonstrate numerically these features fairly well. The work indicates that the polarization self-modulated laser is closely related to the class of delayed nonlinear feedback systems which have been studied earlier by Ikeda and other researchers.
