摘要
A fiber-reinforced elastic composite with residual radial and axial stresses is considered. The effects of the residual stresses on the fiber pull-out process are studied. The shear lag model is used for stress analyses, and the interfacial shear strength is adopted as the debonding criterion. The results show that for a bonded interface the applied axial stress on the fiber required to debond the interface depends strongly on the residual axial stress but is not sensitive to the residual radial stress. When the interface is partially debonded during fiber pull-out, the residual axial stress is relaxed in the debonded region. However, the residual axial stress in the bonded region influences the stress required for partial debonding by modifying the stress at the end of debonding.
