摘要
Using the direct simulation method of Weaire and Kermode, we consider the problem raised by Levitan of a 2-D froth with a single defect. We have found that, for a single defect in an ideal hexagonal network, the second moment mu(2), of the distribution of the number of cell sides for the region of the defect does not tend to a constant as claimed by Levitan. Some reasons for the varying conclusions drawn by different authors about this problem are also discussed.
