摘要
Auger electron spectroscopy of Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 surfaces gives clearly distinguishable Auger lines of all the elements. The main lines for the different elements are: Cu M23M45M45 (Cu1:63 eV) O KL23L23 (O1:515 eV); Bi N5N7N7 (Bi1:101 eV); Sr M5N23N23 (Sr3: 90 eV); and Ca L3M23M23 (cal: 290 eV). After erosion of one or two layers by Ar+ ion bombardment, the intensity of the bismuth line is reduced while the intensity of the calcium line is increased, indicating as expected that the surface layer is a BiO layer. After a few minutes this new spectrum spontaneously turns back into the first one, indicating the surface layer to be spontaneously rebuilt.
