摘要：

The question of the stress of the temporo-maxillar joint was examined by means of graphical statics, photoelastic investigations, and bone density measurements of temporo-maxillar joint slices. The results show that normally the temporo-maxillar joint is loaded by producing chewing pressure. It could be demonstrated, however, that under certain circumstances the joint remains unloaded even if chewing-pressure is produced. Thus, the stress of the temporo-maxillar joint shows a considerable individual variability. © 1969 Springer-Verlag.
