摘要
In this paper we evaluate the potential of the CMS detector for the measurement of CP violation in the B system at the initial low luminosity of LHC (approximately 10(33) cm-2 s-1). The sensitivity to the unitarity triangle angle beta obtained from the B(d)0 --> J/PSI K(s)0 channel is given by delta(sin 2beta) = 0.046, whilst the sensitivity to alpha from the B(d)0 --> pi+ pi- channel is given by delta(sin 2alpha) = 0.082. We also discuss the possibilities of observing semi-inclusive B --> mu + D(s) final states, to measure B(s)0 oscillations and to observe some B baryon modes.
