摘要
Nitroaromatic compounds, an extremely important class of industrial pollutant, are degradable by both bacteria and fungi. Biodegradation of these molecules occurs under aerobic and/or anaerobic conditions. Even compounds such as 2,4,6-trinitrotoluene can be completely biomineralized by certain microorganisms. Knowledge is still incomplete, but the past two years have seen great progress in our understanding of the fundamental biochemical mechanisms involved in microbial catabolism of this class of environmental contaminant.
