CALCULATION OF ELECTRON-TRANSPORT COEFFICIENTS IN COUNTING GAS-MIXTURES

摘要
A modified Holstein-Boltzmann equation has been employed with published cross-section data to calculate numerically the electron energy distribution, and hence electron transport coefficients, in some counting gas mixtures at non-ionising field values. The method of numerical solution is briefly explained. Drift velocities can be reproduced for neon, argon, methane, carbon dioxide and neon/methane mixture. Predictions for argon/methane and argon/carbon dioxide mixtures are less accurate; possible reasons are discussed. © 1979.
