摘要
Raman spectra have been taken in the range of 900-1600 cm-1 from 1 M NaHCO3 solutions after rapid acidification with 3 M HCl to pH 0-1 in a continuous flow apparatus. The spectra show two bands at 1382 and 1280 cm-1 caused by CO2, and an intensive peak at 1017 cm-1 assumed to be caused by the COH stretching vibration of carbonic acid (H2CO3). Peak integrals of spectra taken at different reaction times showed a first order decrease as expected for the dehydration of H2CO3. The calculated rate constant was significantly higher than that in the literature. This is interpreted as a reaction acceleration by high ionic strength or concentration, respectively. © 1990.
