EXCITATION TRANSFER BY LONG-RANGE AND SHORT-RANGE INTERACTIONS IN LIQUID SOLUTION - THE TEMPORAL BEHAVIOR

摘要
The temporal behavior of intermolecular electronic excitation energy transfer is analysed in the framework of a diffusion model including two distance-dependent interaction terms that account for long- and short-range interactions. The diffusion equation is solved numerically allowing for exact computation of the transfer rate for a whole range of time and diffusion coefficients. A comparison of the results with available analytical solution under limiting conditions is made. The importance of considering exchange interaction for a donor-acceptor pair with large Forster radius in a higher diffusive medium is discussed.
