DIFFERENTIAL CROSS SECTION AND POLARIZATION IN P-ALPHA SCATTERING AT 12, 14.2 AND 17.5 MEV

摘要
Angular distributions of the proton differential cross section and polarization in p-α scattering have been measured in the angular range θc.m. = 25°-161° at Ep = 12.04, 14.23 and 17.45 MeV. Phase-shift analysis of most of the available p-α scattering data at these energies have been performed. No ambiguity was found in the determination of the phase shifts with the restriction that no attempt was made to obtain solutions drastically different from results of potential-model calculations. Error bars on the splittings δl+-δl- are three times smaller than error bars on the individual δl values showing strong correlations between the values of the phase shifts δl+ and δl-. The results are in good qualitative agreement with results of the analysis of p-α scattering in terms of scattering of a single particle by an optical potential. © 1969.
