摘要
A sequential batch procedure for measuring the reactivity of flue-gas desulfurization (FGD) limestone absorbents by means of neutralization with a strong acid is presented in a previous work. The method is based on a combination of measured pH-time derivatives and initial diameter distribution functions with a shrinking particle calculation in order to obtain the reactivity of the absorbent. In the present work, the theoretical calculation of the size of the shrinking particle is replaced by direct sequential measurement of the shrinking particle's diameter distribution function by means of a laser diffractometer during the reaction with a strong acid. More realistic numerical values of the diameter of the shrinking particles could thereby be obtained. If the particles are assumed to be of a certain shape, experimental reactivity coefficients for the hydronium ion can also be obtained. The method is demonstrated by comparing experimental results for different limestone qualities with each other.
