PROPERTIES OF CRYSTALLINE TYRAMINE OXIDASE FROM SARCINA LUTEA

摘要
A procedure is described for the preparation of crystalline tyramine oxidase from cells of Sarcina lutea grown in a synthetic medium supplemented with tyramine. The crystalline enzyme preparation appears homogeneous in ultracentrifuge and in acrylamide gel electrophoresis. The molecular weight is determined as 129 000. The enzyme exhibits a typical flavoprotein spectrum and FAD content of the enzyme is calculated to be two moles per mole of enzyme. The enzyme does not contain any significant quantity of firmly bound heavy metal ions. © 1969.
