OPTICAL-DETECTION OF NEW ND3+ SITES IN LINBO3-ND

摘要
This work presents a systematic investigation of the R1(4F3/2) --> 1(4I9/2) fluorescence (emission and excitation) of Nd3+ in LiNbO3. Together with the two Nd3+ sites located at Li+ and Nb5+ cation lattice sites, the presence of more Nd3+ sites has been ascertained. The observation of these new sites strongly depends on the multiplet where the excitation is performed. The effect of inhomogeneous broadening on the peak position of the emission has also been analyzed for each Nd3+ site.
