摘要
A new study of F-region daily behaviour supports earlier suggestions of global upper atmospheric circulation and consequent changes of F-region neutral composition, and electron production and loss rates. The study suggests that this circulation arises from both solar and magnetic-disturbance heating. Alone amongst current theories, this appears adequate to explain F-region seasonal and magnetic-storm behaviour, and their inter-relation. © 1969.
