摘要
Flocculation in two strains of Saccharomyces uvarum appears to be governed by the ratio of K+ and Ca2+ concentrations ([K+]/[Ca2+]). When the ratio is diminished either by an increased [Ca2+] or by a decreased [K+], the intensity and rate of flocculation are increased. K+ seems to be an antagonist of Ca2+ in the flocculation mechanism since enhancement of [K+] in the medium decreases uptake of Ca2+. Conversely an increase in [Ca2+] decreases the uptake of K+. © 1979 Springer-Verlag.
