摘要
In this issue we depart from our usual pattern of recalling scientific events from Federation Meetings 50 years ago. The topic discussed here emerged in 1969 as a study of the suppression of malignancy by cell fusion, from which sprang the theme of this issue - tumor suppressor genes. The author is Sir Henry Harris, Regius Professor of Medicine Emeritus in the University of Oxford. Here he describes how "a protracted bout of obstinacy" on his part led to the collaboration with George Klein that gave rise to the seminal letter to Nature in 1969. (This is the 28th in a series.).
