COHERENT TRANSIENTS OF PUMP-PROBE SPECTROSCOPY IN 2-LEVEL APPROXIMATION

摘要
A theoretical analysis of absorption changes being close to electronic resonances of the homogeneously broadened two-level medium is presented. It is shown that coherent light-matter interaction may lead to temporal oscillations of the signal time-profile in pump-probe measurements. The oscillations arise from beats in the coherent polarization probed near the resonance and may be observed even for negative time delay.
