摘要
In this paper we present the first experimental data on the sensitivity of optical second-harmonic generation to the misorientation of a Si(111) crystal. Results are presented for samples covered with a native oxide and for atomically clean samples. The relative contributions of surface and bulk to the second-harmonic signal are discussed. The atomic structure and morphology of the clean surfaces were determined by scanning tunneling microscopy.
