Chlorinated samples of superconducting La1.8Sr0.2CuO4-1/2yCly 0 < y < 2 were prepared by solid state reaction of LaOCl, CuO and SrCO3. Homogeneity of the chlorinated samples was checked by X-ray powder diffraction, and EDAX and electron probe analysis. Analysis of resistivity vs.T curves and of lattice changes as a function of nominal Cl concentration were compared with those observed in Sr-defficient non-chlorinated La-Sr-Cu-O samples. © 1990.
