INTERNAL SILANOLS IN ZEOLITES - INFERENCES FROM QUANTUM CHEMICAL CALCULATIONS

摘要
The results of calculations support the view that internal silanol defect sites in ZSM-5 zeolites occur as hydrogen-bonded pairs. These sites involve moderately acidic hydroxyls, less acidic than Al associated bridged hydroxyls but significantly more acidic than hydroxyls which terminate the crystal at the outer surface.
