摘要
The influence of glutaurine on the spleen of carrageenan-treated mice was investigated. The spleen cells derived from carrageenan-treated mice were also studied with respect to mitogen-stimulated and nonstimulated DNA synthesis. 1. 1. The optimal condition of carrageenan treatment was 60 mg/kg body wt ip for 4 days. 2. 2. The increase of the spleen weight per body wt ratio (48%) caused by carrageenan was found to be significant (P < 0.01), and could not be influenced by adding glutaurine. 3. 3. Both carrageenan and glutaurine treatment resulted in an enchancement of [3H]thymidine incorporation in spleen cells (174 and 203%). When carrageenan was added together with glutaurine the elevated incorporation of [3H]thymidine disappeared. 4. 4. The in vitro stimulation of spleen cells by phytohemagglutinin was higher in cultures derived from carrageenan-treated mice if the cells were cultured for 48 hr. With increasing time of carrageenan treatment this effect was found to be decreasing. 5. 5. The number of peripheral blood lymphocytes was not influenced by carrageenan treatment. © 1979.
