摘要
Coulomb blockade oscillations of the conductance of a quantum dot defined in a two-dimensional electron gas are investigated. At low temperatures, a dramatic modulation of the peak conductances is found at zero magnetic field. This modulation is attributed to current-carrying electrons that tunnel through the dot coherently giving rise to resonances in the transmission. Temperature-dependent measurements indicate that the strength of the modulation is determined by the thermal smearing of the Fermi function.
