摘要
The behaviour of binary Nb3Al alloys as high-temperature structural materials is reviewed with regard to deformation of single phase Nb3Al and Nb3Al/Nb(ss) (niobium solid solution) composites fabricated by various processes. Single-phase Nb3Al, which exists at 1873 K in the composition range between 21 and 23 mol% Al, possesses an extremely high yield strength at high temperatures with the activation of a[100] dislocations on {001} planes, although it is very brittle below 1500 K. Fine distribution of Nb(ss) in Nb3Al improves the fracture toughness and decreases the high temperature strength. The trends of Nb3Al alloy development will be discussed.
