DIRECT INDIRECT DRIVE, A NEW POSSIBILITY FOR LASER-INDUCED FUSION

摘要
Recent experimental results suggest high efficiency (up to 30%) of laser to X-ray conversion in the rear side of a thin Au target. From this, a scheme is suggested where the laser light is transformed into X rays by a thin shell of a high Z target and the inward X rays are imploding a pellet.
