摘要
1. 1. The influence of sex on the chain elongation, dehydrogenation and incorporation of fatty acids has been studied using a microsomal system. 2. 2. A significant sex difference was found in the elongation of palmitic acid to stearic acid. Female rats performed the elongation with a capacity about twice as high as that of male rats. 3. 3. No sex differences were detected in the ability to perform the dehydrogenation and chain-elongation steps leading from linoleic acid to arachidonic acid. The incorporation of arachidonic acid into complex lipids was not influenced by the sex. © 1969.
