PREFERENTIAL UPTAKE OF FE(III) BY HUMIC-ACID EXTRACTED FROM LIGNITE

摘要
Studies of the interaction of humic acid, extracted from lignite, with cations showed that Mg(II), Co(II), NL(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), AI(III) and Fe(III) form complexes with humic acid. Of these cations, Fe(III) has the greatest tendency to form complexes. The retention capacities are in the order Fe(III)>Al(III)>Cu(II) >Zn(II)>Ni(II)>Co(II)>Mg(II). It may be significant that the cation which shows preferential uptake on the basis of increase in acidity has initially the greatest acidity.
