摘要：

The progress of plant biotechnology has stimulated research on the plant hormones called cytokinins and vice versa. Cytokinins affect plant development, the response of plants to various environmental stresses and other physiological processes of agricultural importance. Advances in the understanding of cytokinin metabolism, together with the availability of cloned cytokinin genes, may permit crop improvements through modulation of cytokinin expression in plant tissues.
