摘要
The exposure time to record field-ion images on 35 mm film, can be significantly decreased by reducing the diameter of the ion image to 2.5 cm and using 1:1 photography. By this means, ion images were recorded 10 to 20 times faster than with the usual image size of 8 to 10 cm. Visual observations of details of the reduced ion images can be made conveniently with a conventional stereomicroscope. Some of the factors affecting the quality of the ion-micrographs are discussed. © 1968 The American Institute of Physics.
