摘要
The synthesis and phenol-binding properties of cyclophane hosts 1a and 1b are described. A sliding scale method for determining binding constants of the hosts is described. Host 1a with p-nitrophenol has a binding constant of ca. 96000 M–1. The significance of this result with respect to the design of sites capable of molecular recognition is discussed. © 1990, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
