NEUTRON KNOCKOUT AND ISOBAR EXCITATION IN QUASI-FREE ELECTRON-SCATTERING

摘要
Neutron knockout is proposed as a suitable tool to investigate the role of two-body currents in quasi-free electron scattering in a combined analysis of the different nuclear responses also involving polarization observables. The calculations performed for the reaction O-17(e, e'n)O-16(g.s.) indicate a strong sensitivity to the isobar excitation in the intermediate state of the pure transverse and the longitudinal-transverse responses in the differential cross section as well as of the transverse component P'(S) of the polarization transfer.
