ELECTROSPRAY IONIZATION MASS-SPECTROMETRY OF SOME BETA-AGONISTS

Positive-ion electrospray spectra of some beta-agonists have been acquired under various ion acceleration conditions. Collisional activation of beta-agonists allows control of their mass spectral patterns, i.e., the molecular ion or several characteristic fragmentations can be favored by changing the energy of the ions extracted into the vacuum system. Some preliminary observations are presented, showing the potential of electrospray ionization for the mass spectrometric analysis of beta-agonists.
