EVOLUTION OF TRAPPED ION CELLS IN FOURIER-TRANSFORM ION-CYCLOTRON RESONANCE MASS-SPECTROMETRY

摘要
Factors shaping the development of trapped ion cells in Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FTICR) mass spectrometry have evolved along several lines. Areas of improvement include maximizing the quadrupolar character of the cell, reducing the radial electric trapping field, and improving the linearity of the excitation event. This review focuses on cell development for optimum FTICR performance.
